Festival of the Knob

2015 is the 11th Annual Festival of the Knob!

Spend the day celebrating the colourful life of early settler George 'Yorkey' Lawson, the Yorkshire man, after whom this beach side suburb of Yorkey`s Knob was named. Join the residents for a day full of fun for all ages, with all day live music and entertainers.

The children have jump castles, clowns and giant slides to keep them occupied. The adults have 80 market stalls selling everything from gourmet food to bric-a-brac, monster raffle, local historical, police, vintage cars/motor cycles displays to keep them happy.

Highlights include the arrival of 'Yorkey' with gifts for the children. You may even end up being crowned "King or Queen of the Knob" by the Mayor of Cairns!

Now in it's 11th year, the festival has become a huge annual celebration for the Knob! Held at the Community Centre and shady Parklands cnr. Wattle and Cunningham Streets, from 10am-4pm, come along and join in the fun.
