Chinese New Year Street Festival

Saturday 13 February 2016
4pm till 9pm
Join us and  the Chinese community in celebrating the year of the Monkey at the Cairns Chinese New Year Street Festival. Held on Saturday 13 February 2016, the Festival will occur from 4pm - 9pm on Grafton Street between Shields and Spence Streets. There will be the live entertainment, featuring the Chinese Lions Dance and Dragon wind their way through the street, plenty of yummy food to enjoy, market stalls and at the end of the night fireworks.

What does The year of the Monkey lends itself to luck and fortune? It's an opportunistic time, particularly in building and business growth. It is also a time for taking risks and being rebellious, a year where agile, inventive minds, sheer guts and bravado will win out. Now is the time of courage, action, anarchy, and true devotion to even the wildest of schemes, a time to start new endeavors, for they are destined to succeed under Monkey’s influence.
